Message from our Executive Director
Dear St. John’s Football Club Family,
My name is Justin Truglio, and I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of St. John’s Football Club. Soccer has been a lifelong passion of mine—one that has taken me across the globe as a player and, now, as a leader dedicated to reshaping the soccer landscape here in Northeast Florida. My fan loyalty lies with Chelsea FC, but more importantly, my commitment is to the players and families of this community.
Before founding St. John’s Football Club, I built a successful career working with some of the largest tech companies in the world, including Broadcom, Cisco, and Verizon. Despite my corporate experience, soccer has remained at the core of my life. My wife and I, along with our two children, have called St. John’s, Florida, home for the past 15 years after relocating from New York. Both of my kids were raised in this community, and my son’s journey through competitive club soccer in the area is what ultimately led me to start this club.
Simply put, I was disappointed. The local soccer landscape was failing players—focusing more on politics and pay-to-play structures rather than actual development. Style of play was stagnant, true player progression was lacking, and real opportunities, especially professional pathways, were nearly nonexistent. I believe that a quality competitive program should make college scholarships the baseline, not the pinnacle, of its ambitions.
That’s why I created St. John’s Football Club—to provide a true developmental pathway for players to reach their highest potential, whatever that may be. In our short existence, we have already established more professional opportunities than every other local club combined, and we’re just getting started. Our mission is clear: to build a better football product in Northeast Florida. If that pushes other clubs to raise their standards, so be it. Competition is good for the game, but monopolies have held this area back for far too long. We resolve to break that down.
