Message from our Executive Director
Dear St. John’s Football Club Family,
My name is Justin Truglio, and I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of St. John’s Football Club. Soccer has been a lifelong passion of mine—one that has taken me across the globe as a player and now as a leader committed to transforming the soccer landscape here in Northeast Florida. While my loyalty as a fan lies with Chelsea FC, my deepest commitment is to the players and families in our community.
Before founding St. John’s Football Club, I spent years working in the corporate world with leading global tech companies such as Broadcom, Cisco, and Verizon. But soccer has always been at my core. My wife and I have called St. Johns, Florida, home for over 15 years, raising our two children here after relocating from New York. It was my own son’s journey through the local competitive soccer system that became the catalyst for launching this club.
Frankly, I was disheartened. The local soccer landscape was more focused on politics and profit than player development. Style of play was stagnant, real player progression was minimal, and true professional pathways were nearly nonexistent. I knew there had to be a better way.
That’s why I created St. John’s Football Club—to build a club rooted in development, opportunity, and integrity. In a short time, we’ve already helped unlock more professional opportunities than many clubs with decades of history, and we’ve done it by staying true to our mission.
Today, I’m thrilled to announce that St. John’s Football Club is officially joining Sporting Jax Soccer Academy—one of the top soccer academies in the entire country. Sporting Jax offers clearly defined pathways to both collegiate and professional levels, and, most importantly, they share the same values that SJFC was founded on: player-first development, transparency, and a commitment to excellence over politics.
This partnership is not the end of our journey—it’s the next step forward. With Sporting Jax, our players now have access to the very best coaching, exposure, and support to reach the highest levels of the game, all while maintaining the culture and values that brought us together in the first place.
